Virgin TV customers can now watch Amazon Prime Video on their V6 boxes following update

Virgin TV customers can now get access to the full Amazon Prime Video catalogue as part of the latest update to the firms’ V6 box .

This means, for the first time, V6 subscribers can watch the likes of Good Omens , The Grand Tour , The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel and Premier League matches without buying a separate Amazon Fire TV Stick .

It’s not a free service, however. You need to either sign in, or sign up, to an Amazon Prime subscription to access the shows on your V6 box. An Amazon Prime subscription costs £79 a year and includes Amazon Prime Video, plus free Amazon delivery, Amazon Music, access to Prime deals and more. To watch Amazon Prime Video on your V6 box, simply open the Amazon Prime Video app on the V6's application homepage and sign in to your account. Once signed in, each time you search for shows using the Search & Discover tool, the Prime Video catalogue will be included.

The app should have been automatically downloaded via an over-the-air firmware update pushed out to all Virgin TV V6 set-top boxes.

This is the latest device to get official access to Amazon Prime Video, following the news it was coming to Google’s Chromecast at the start of July. This means it’s now available on mobile, Android TV, Roku devices and Google Chromecast as well as Amazon’s range of Fire TV and Fire TV Cube devices.
