My Hero Academia: 10 Things Everyone Should Know About Dabi

Dabi is one of the most popular characters in Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia and also one of the main antagonists of the series. As a member of the League of Villains, he poses a great threat to the Hero society and just like most other members of the group wants to, eventually, bring an end to it.

Although much of Dabi's past has been kept a secret by the author of the story, recent events of the manga have revealed key bits of information about him that every fan of the series should know.

  10 His Alias Is Blueflame

Dabi is quite infamous in the world of My Hero Academia and is and is often called by his alias, Blueflame. This is down to the fact that the flames that his Quirk lets him produce are, for some reason, blue.

Dabi's powers have made him one of the strongest people under Shigaraki Tomura. Interestingly, "Dabi" is yet another one of his aliases, as confirmed in the recent chapters of My Hero Academia.

  9 He Is Secretly Endeavor's Son & Shoto's Brother

Dabi's identity has always been a big mystery for the fans of My Hero Academia. In the War arc, even someone as shrewd as Hawks couldn't find out any information on two particular individuals from the League of Villains, one being Shigaraki Tomura, the other being Dabi.

It was later revealed that Dabi is none other than the boy who was thought to have died long ago, Toya Todoroki, the son of Enji Todoroki, famously known as Endeavor.

8 Dabi's Hair Color Changed From Crimson To White To Dyed Black

Dabi's hair color has changed quite a few times in the series, especially when taking his past into account. As Toya Todoroki, he is known to have had crimson-colored hair long ago. Later on, his hair turned completely white at some point during his life.

To hide his identity for as long as he wanted to, Dabi used to dye his hair black. All things considered, his plan to hide his real identity worked pretty well.

7 His Cremation Quirk Can Burn Through Nearly Anything

Dabi, like most people in My Hero Academia, was born with a Quirk, which he awakened at a young age. Interestingly, the name of his Quirk has still not been confirmed, however, it is unofficially known as Cremation.

This Quirk allows him to produce blue flames from his body that are strong enough to burn through nearly anything within a matter of a few seconds. With this power, he's easily among the strongest characters in the League of Villains.

6 His Flames Can Reach Up To 3000° Fahrenheit

Dabi's flames are unlike the ones that Enji Todoroki or Shoto Todoroki are able to produce using their Quirks. Whereas Endeavor's flames are orange in color, the ones that Dabi produces are blue, which is evident from his alias as well.

Dabi's flames burn much hotter than the normal ones, as is indicated by its color. They can reach temperatures up to 3000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is what makes Dabi scarier than most villains in the series.

5 His Role In The League Is Lieutenant Of The Liberation Front

Dabi is, without a doubt, an incredibly useful member of the League of Villains, now known as the Paranormal Liberation Front after having joined forces with Re-Destro.

As one of the strongest Villains, Dabi was assigned the role of a Lieutenant of the Liberation Front. He was partnered with Geten, a member of the Meta Liberation Army, as the co-commander of the Violet Regiment.

4 He's Weak In Close Combat & Prefers To Fight From A Distance

Despite being an extremely powerful villain, Dabi has his weaknesses and they come in the form of close-quarters combat. Dabi isn't all that experienced in fighting his opponents up close, which is why he specializes in long-ranged combat.

This allows him to use the power of his Cremation Quirk to the fullest and even use the surroundings as a weapon itself. His skills in long-ranged combat are incredibly high-level and he can even take on the strongest of Pro-Heroes using them.

3 He Had Potential But Was Deemed A Failure By Endeavor

Born as Toya Todoroki, Dabi was the eldest child of Endeavor and thus, was made into someone whose only goal was to surpass All Might. Toya's own Quirk was known to be stronger than Hellflame.

Being capable of producing flames that burn hotter than Enji's own, his father drilled all that he knew into him, knowing that he had the potential to surpass him one day. However, due to Rei's weak constitution, he was eventually deemed a failure.

2 He "Died" In The Past After Being Completely Incinerated By Flames

Dabi is a victim of abuse from his own father, Enji Todoroki, who only saw him as a tool to accomplish his goal, and that was to surpass All Might one day. After being constantly abused by his father, Dabi, then Toya Todoroki, would often break down and question his existence.

A certain day, he went to Sekoto Peak, where his father used to train, and got completely incinerated by flames that burned hotter than 2000° Celcius. The only part of his body that was found was his jawbone.

1 The Aftermath Of His Tragedy

Although everyone believed Toya to have died, he survived and lived with only one goal in his mind at the time and that was to destroy his father, Endeavor. Toya's tragic abuse scarred him mentally and forced him to become a Villain and take the identity of Dabi until the day to eliminate his father came.

This accident also left him physically scarred. He carries several patches of gnarled, purple skin on his body and what's even worse for him is that the accident burned down his tear ducts, making him unable to cry.
